i was give the gift of 6 paper bags (the kind with handels, the big ones:)) FILLED with fabrics!! i laid them all out and color coordinated them into two clear rubbermaids...beautiful!
while siftting through i found some that looked great in my livingroom (did i mention the piles grew on the floor in the livingroom?) so i set out to recover some of my pillows, YAY!

routine

with school starting (homeschool at our house), sports, ballet, studies, etc. that run on a school year...the routine begins. when i get to this point in the year, i look at routine as a bummer. the summer is wonderful with my family! the calender is overwhelming and the "regular job" of each day is tough to swallow...BUT once we get into it, i really feel like routine is a wonderful thing. it gets us all moving, a focus surrounds are days, and things just get accomplished. by the end of the year we do enjoy a break for the summer, a lighter load, nowhere to be, sleep ins, etc.
this said...we are easing into our first week of routine, next week will be easier and by the end i'll be back into it. i am a type A after all, so it really is my thing ;)
blogging will come back more too! i was thinking that i would like to try for a post a week...work up to a twice a week routine...well, we'll see ;)

i choose a more simple embellishment...on a pin, so on or off :)

loved this top, super easy, nice and light and cost me about $4 to make!!

things are moving along at a rapid pace! sometimes it is hard to catch up with the mundane...i have been working some, enjoying summer, and already starting the routine with the kids for fall sports and school. how did it get to be almost september?
around the workshop the name and logo are getting brushed up and ready for a debut soon! i am really excited!! the idea of Christmas sewing is already hitting me :) and orders just keep coming, THANK YOU!
i can't believe it has been almost 1 year since the first jenna baggs original!
hmmmm, thinking that might mean a treat is in the making???

another selfish project...

this started out as a dress pattern and i just shortened it a little ~~LOT~~

the color is a nice deep burgundy, but it isn't showing well in the photo, sorry!

i just LOVE the detail on the back, very pretty!!

this fabric i found on sale and bought all that was left :)

it is so light weight and soft, so nice for summer!

the side view does reveal a little extra bulk in the top, but it would be an easy one to convert into a maternity top for anyone (no this is not an announcement, boo)

it has been nice to work on a few things for me, back to a bagg next time i have a minute to work for me again, feels like time for a change ;)

i found a couple of bandannas hanging around...so on the 3rd, i sat for a few minutes and made this skirt!

i started with it as a totally straight line...then realized it wouldn't work well with my hips.

soooo, i brought it in up the side and i think i like how that looks from the side too :)

you can see that it is on the bias so not a perfect finish, but i like it! it was light and airy for the VERY hot 4th we had here. i also didn't finish the hem, on purpose. thought it looked more easy and comfortable with a little fray at the bottom...what do you think?

It is crazy baseball season around these parts! Fear not, I am still sewing, just shorter time allowed and fewer jobs taken on at the moment. I love watching my kids play, enjoying the outdoors, the game, the teamwork! I wouldn't miss these days for the world!!

What do you think of the name of my company? Busy At Home~
I have been torn. Jenna's Baggs is fun as it is my name and perfectly describes my product. BUT now I am doing some other things as well. I have also heard that the name, Busy At Home makes folks think that the products they will find are ways to help with those that are busy at home.
Thoughts, comments, suggestions? Please be nice, but please tell me what you really think :)

Working on all kinds of new projects!! I am happily working on a set of curtians for a friend and designer from our town for a client who is also a friend, hmmm. That is so very nice :) Also, a new bagg for a client, can't wait to show you!! And a new idea from my cousin after talking about all kinds of fun business ideas at the kitchen table in her home in NJ! I tell you, life is full and blessed!! It snowed on Wednesday, last week...so I sewed!
I had purchased this fabric a few weeks back. I liked the colors and it made me think of SPRING!! Well, this pattern and this fabric turned into my new Bagg!

Today marks two weeks from our Families Helping Haiti Auction! It was a wonderful success, a fun night, and a great way to show that the people in tiny town NH are so willing to share with those in Haiti! I was personally blessed by the whole process! Well, our finally tally is in and I couldn't wait to share it with you all...we raised $2360!!! Amazing what the Lord can do!
As a reminder the donations are heading to the Red Cross, Samaritan's Purse, and World Vision. All working in Haiti already, needing funds to keep up the effort there!
Again, thank you to everyone involved!!

The auction was last night...it was a fun party! A nice set up (photos are coming) and a wonderful way to share! Today is busy!! I have a preliminary total of money raised...drum roll please...ok, ok...$1944.71!!

I have decided that in order to make sure that we all enjoy this season around here...I have to set a custom order deadline...December 1 is next Tuesday. Not only is our family life very busy this fall (school, soccer, fall baseball, ballet), but here at the baggs offices (a.k.a. my spot on the dining room table) business is booming! I have 5 orders in the cue at this moment and some others are pending! I am so blessed to be enjoying the work I do and loving the people I am doing it for! As soon as the schedule allows I will post new photos of some of the custom work I have been doing. For now, rmember that Christmas is coming, get your orders in line now :)
